Its the cricket season so cant have anything more important than Cricket on my mind :). India was thrashed for last defeat......Paki team were cursed even more.......Dhoni's newly constructed house walls were brought down..... Bob Woolmer died mostly coz of not being able to take the pressure.......Inzamam ul haq resigned from one day and test cricket.......ufffffff ....so many things happening in the last 2 days. What bothers me most is that many of the previously listed incidents do not reflect the "Spirit of Sportsmanship". When in school there was so much talk, discussion and teaching about Sportsmanship in which the most important aspect was that winning and losing are part of the game. One needs to try and win but then if he looses he needs to except those circumstances too. Now do we burn down Chappel's and other players effigies after a loss just because we lack the "Spirit". Is this because we are not basically a sporty community (by which I mean most of us don't play too many sports) so as to take defeats patiently. But whatever may be the reasons ..... some of the violent dharnas or protest marches against the loosing team in front of their respective houses is totally unfair and uncalled for from their families. I think the blame of loosing is to be taken up by the team.....what does the team's families got to do with it.
Now the other major incident ....Bob woolmer's demise..... MAN that was shocking for me and many of the people around..... Does loosing badly inflict so much pain and pressure on an individual ...... and mind you not an ordinary one ..... he was the one coach who not only helped take SA to finals 1999 but also introduced a lot of technology usage in Cricket. The most interesting thing I found out on his profile was that he was born in Kanpur,India.
Anyways ending on a happy note, India played exceptionally well in first innings of India vs Bermuda match. 18 sixers in total 7 contributed by Yuvi and stylish 57 by Sachin ..... lovely to see so many runs scored.

even before the real fun gets begn..[:D]
if Sehwag gets goin .. no serious worries..but he wont ..
ganguly..even david hamp of bermuda produced a better application...
sachin.. no hope for crucial matches..
dravid cant win ODI
yuvi..lack of application agnst genuine pace n spin
dhoni... one man army is not meant to fly..
utthapa... too early to trust..
i believe ..with strange things and kind of events unfolding...sportsmanship is not longer in the picture...ppl are now talking abt downright moral and ethical attidutes...
the so called 'gentleman's game' is now a Passé...dunno where such a good sport is headed too...first there were match fixing investigations..now there are murder investigations...things have turned really sour..and is sickening to all the cricket fans around the world..
some one summed up well here..
Consider these recent developements
1. Its an open fact that inzamam (and his team members) had soured relationship with woolmer
2. Woolmer recently stated that he would start writing a book in which he will mention about match fixing by pakistan (including some of its key team members (Inzamam included???)) and contacted the chief of Cricinfo.com in this regard.
3. Inzamam did not mention a single word about his retirement in this world cup before the world cup started.
4. If you think he retired owinf to the bad performace of his team with Ireland, then he should have announced his retirement immediately after the match. But it did not happen, instead he announced it immediately after woolmer's death.
5. Proabably Inzamam thought, it was better to retire now instead of having to quit the gamme in an unceremonious manner, if at all he was found guilty of woolmer's murder.
So where do all these clues point to??????
Neways long story short....may the best team win ;) and good luck india
